Lemsord Old People’s Welfare

Lemsford Old People’s Welfare was formed in the early 1950’s. It started as an offshoot of the then Parish Residents Association which covered Lemsford, Stanborough, and Cromer Hyde.
A ladies committee was formed from the residents in the Parish. Their aim was to visit parishioners  over 60 years of age who were sick or lonely , in hospital or just in need of a chat.

The Lemsord Old People’s Welfare provides various social functions throughout the year for the over 60’s. During the summer months there is an afternoon tea and a coach outings to the seaside or places of interest. At the end of the year there is a splendid Christmas Luncheon with live entertainment.
